The Sunday School
The School is organized with Primary, Intermediate and Advanced Departments.
The sessions of the Intermediate Department are held in the Sunday School room of the church. The Primary and Advanced Departments have rooms provided for them in the Parish House.
The hour of session for all departments is 3:15 P.M. At 4 o'clock the whole school goes into the church for Evensong, and to be publicly catechized and instructed.
The children in the Primary Department are taught both in a body, by use of pictures, etc., and in classes. The instruction, which is mainly oral, takes in the Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and the Ten Commandments; stories from the life of our Lord, and the meaning of the seasons of the Church Year.
The work of the Intermediate and Advanced Departments is arranged in grades; the teachers in each grade teaching only the study of that grade, and the scholars passying by promotin from grade to grade. Scholars are examined by the Rector for admission and for each promotion.
The instruction in the Intermediate Department includes a Catechism Grade, a Creed Grade, a Sacrament Grade and a Church Year Grade. Each grade has a number of classes. The classes in he same grade all sue the same text-book, a manual of siple but definite teaching on he grade study, prepared by the Rector.
The Advanced Department has six grades, engaged severally in the study of the Worship of the Church, the Life of our Lord, the History of the Apostolic Church, Old Testament History, the Prayer Book, and Church History.
The School at present has classes at work in all its grades.
